My name is Malaika and I am the architect-turned-designer behind Chalk, a London-based design studio.
I have a massive love for exquisitely crafted design in all its manifestations. Whether it's the grandeur of sprawling cityscapes or the delicate intricacies of fine jewellery, I find beauty in the everyday details.
I did not come into making jewellery the traditional way which I think gives my pieces a unique quality. I started by devising collections from a fusion of my experiences and the vibrant patterns that adorn diverse cultures around the world.
Each piece is a labour of love, meticulously crafted to embody the perfect balance between form and function. I want you to not only wear my designs but to experience the joy and confidence they bring, as they add a touch of boldness and uniqueness to your personal style.

I am a practicing architect and interior designer, the fusion of these passions give my jewellery a dynamic edge.
I studied architecture at the university of Greenwich and completed my qualification at Westminster University.
It was here that I started to experiment with model making and creating jewellery.
